About this photo

Immortalised as 'the town too tough to die', Tombstone was for a time the home of such men as Wyatt Earp and 'Doc' Holliday. Tombstone was founded in 1879 and by late 1881 there were more gambling houses, saloons, and a larger red light district than any other town in Arizona's southwest.
