The infamous Bird Cage Theatre, amed after its thirteen little cribs hanging from the ceiling where prostitutes plied their trades, opened in December of 1881 and closed its doors in 1889. The longest single poker game in history was played in the basement gaming area: it lasted eight years and four months.
